The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority on Friday hindered video-sharing application TikTok, refering to “unethical and disgusting” content.
As indicated by an official statement, taking into account “grievances” and the “nature of substance being reliably posted on TikTok”, PTA gave a “last notification” to the application.
TikTok was given “impressive time” to react and consent to guidelines to successfully direct “unlawful online substance”, said PTA.
“Notwithstanding, the application neglected to completely agree to the guidelines, subsequently, bearings were given for hindering of TikTok application in the nation,” the announcement said.
TikTok has been educated that the authority “is open for commitment” and will audit its choice on the off chance that it finds a “palatable instrument” has been utilized by the video-sharing application to direct “unlawful substance”. Minutes after the news broke, the application started to show a clear interface with no content or pictures stacking.
