Multiple Reddit users have reported that their PS4 consoles have been frozen because of a message that causes the possible glitch in the system. Additionally, these Reddit users have stated that they were forced to factory reset their consoles to tackle with this glitch.
The affected PS4 users are advising other users to be aware of this new glitch or problem in the system. According to the ones affected, all the PS4 users should set their messages to private as this is possibly the only way to save all their progress and save games.
Additionally, the affected users have also stated that they have been hit by this new glitch via a message which when viewed, it freezes the console and forces players to factory reset their consoles. According to others on Reddit, this message can’t even be removed via the mobile app as well. However, some did mentioned that this probably worked for them. Some players have stated that just receiving the message was enough to freeze their consoles and they didn’t even viewed the message. Yet, they had to reset their consoles to factory.
According to the Reddit user Huntstark;
Even deleting the message from the mobile app doesn’t work. It happened to me during Rainbow Six: Siege. A player from the other team used a dummy account to send the message and crashed my entire team. We all have had to factory reset. Only one of our guys wasn’t affected and he has his messages private. Do this ASAP to prevent this from happening to you.

Another one stated that;
This just happened to me during Rocket League. Got a message then after a minute my controller stopped working and everything went silent. Now I can’t access the home menu. It just goes to the ‘Report Problem’ screen every time.
All the PS4 players who haven’t been hit by this new glitch, should go and set their messages to private. At the moment, this seems to be the best option to avoid any inconvenience. Sony Interactive Entertainment hasn’t yet spoken about it. Hopefully, they’ll be working to solve this issue.
