When someone talks about a monster, the first name that comes to mind is none other than Godzilla. Godzilla is a worldwide pop culture icon with 34 films based on the character. A great news for all the fans is that the trailer has been released. So, if they can’t wait till May, they can watch it over and over until May.
Warner Bros. just revealed that the movie has received a PG-13 rating. The director, Michael Dougherty, celebrated the occasion by tweeting:
“PG-13 due to sequences of monster action violence and destruction, and for some language.”

A Reddit user claimed to have seen the opening 40 minutes of the movie. He said that it was pretty great with splendid cinematography and acting (especially from Vera Farmiga). He loved the special effects, casting and considered it the most original film of the series.
“Not without giving away too much,” director, Michael Dougherty, told EW regarding Godzilla’s signature move. “But it takes place at a very key moment and it’s a sort of call to arms.” And then on the topic of if there will be any easter eggs in the movie for the next movie, Godzilla vs Kong, the battle between world’s most popular giants. Dougherty said, “It’s not like we’re bending over backwards to introduce Kong, but there’s definitely some bread crumbs”.
When asked, how much screen time each of the monsters, Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah, will receive he said, “Rodan’s been kind of a sidekick character, but I’ve always had a soft spot for him. In a lot of ways, he’s more powerful than Godzilla. He’s like this winged A-bomb. I think we’ve done him justice.”
The Godzilla franchise is the longest continuously running movie franchise as it has been active since 1954. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is the 35th movie in the series but only the third movie to be fully produced by a Hollywood studio. It is a sequel to the 2014 Godzilla which was, in turn, a reboot of the whole franchise. Godzilla started Legendary’s MonsterVerse and Kong: Skull Island was the next installment. Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be the third and Godzilla vs Kong will be the fourth installment.
It will be released on May 31, 2019, in 2D, 3D, Dolby Cinema and IMAX.
