Dirt Rally 2 was announced last month by Codemasters. The game is set to launch on February 26th, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It isn’t confirmed that the game will release with a VR Version, but as the Codemasters has hinted it out, a VR version of the game might be currently in works.
It is possible that a VR version of Dirt Rally 2 will launch after the official release in 2019. Codemasters have recently revealed some crucial game details in a live-stream. It has since been speculated that the game might get a VR support after the official release.
According to Codemasters chief game designer, Ross Gowing;
[VR] is something that we’re listening to everybody’s comments and all of the things the community have to say about it,” he said. “We are all ears, and if there’s an enormous demand for it then yeah, we can do it. It’s no small undertaking but if its what people want, then we’ll try to get it done.
More important details about Dirt Rally 2 have also been released via the same live-stream. According to the new info, Dirt Rally 2 will have tire wear and players will also be able to select the tires from all the in-game options. Additionally, players will be treated to real-life race track layouts. For this purpose, the data have been gathered via satellite imagery and real photos of the race tracks.
The VR Support for Dirt Rally 2 has also been speculated because its predecessor had it as well. In Dirt Rally, players were able to enjoy the VR mode on both PSVR and Oculus Rift. The VR support for the first game came almost half a year later than its official release. Fans are hopeful that the studio will follow the same pattern and they will have a VR support for the game soon after its launch.
