Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red announced today that they have formed a partnership with a small but a reputable development studio named as Digital Scapes. According to CD Project Red, they have invited Digital Scapes on board to work on their mega budget and Immersive RPG Cyberpunk 2077.
Digital Scapes recently surfaced with their achievements for their work on Dying Light, the best selling Open-world FPS, survival-Horror and Action-Adventure title by Techland. Digital Scapes and Techland cooperation on Dying Light resulted in an epic asymmetrical PvP while Techland studio offered an unforgettable Single-player experience.
CD Projekt Red and Digital Scapes collaboration sounds tempting because according to the CD PR, they will be closely cooperating with Digital Scapes on creating and optimizing the technological solutions for Cyberpunk 2077. This might be a hint for Cyberpunk 2077 getting a multiplayer bonus. Well, fans’ should not get their hopes up as the studio previously said that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be shipping with multiplayer. But, the studio didn’t completely ruled it out for the game. So, fans should expect it or not, that’s a little vague at the moment.
Digital Scapes is also pretty much popular because of their work on Dying Light’s R&D, telemetry and for the most part, analytics. This is something that CD Projekt Red can and maybe will use on titles as complex as Cyberpunk 2077. Digital Scapes studio specializes in multiplayer for consoles, PC game development, development tool creation, asset production, and cloud computing, so a collaboration with CD Projekt Red at this time might be a hint of possible multiplayer addition to Cyberpunk 2077. But, keep in mind that this is just a possibility, as the studio has made it pretty clear in the past that it is in fact, an outside possibility.
Fans, should not take it as the final word on multiplayer inclusion at all. Hopefully, at a later stage after the release of Cyberpunk 2077, the game will get multiplayer. At the moment it is much clear that CD Projekt Red is focusing on the single-player experience for the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set for a release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The studio has yet to announce a final release date.
