Avatar Picks A New Font, Possibly Due To Ryan Gosling’s SNL Sketch

After ten years of scrutiny regarding the font, the graphic designer chose for the logo of Avatar, the film franchise has finally decided to update its logos all across its social media platforms. They have changed the Papyrus font to a seemingly custom font which won’t displease anyone in comparison to the previous catastrophe. The Papyrus font was most noticeably made fun of on SNL in a sketch where Ryan Gosling obsesses over the font to a point of no return. His character then stalks the graphic designer who then stares at the camera with a creepy smile on his face at the end of the sketch.

The four planned sequels have “fully encapsulated” standalone plots that “come to their own conclusions”. James Cameron described the sequels as “a natural extension of all the themes, and the characters, and the spiritual undercurrents” of the first film.

Avatar 2, 3, 4 and 5 are currently slated for December 18, 2020, December 17, 2021, December 20, 2024, and December 19, 2025 release dates.
